Experience
I do have a great deal of tutoring experience especially with elementary and middle school aged children. My job acts as a tutoring position at times as I work in an after school program helping students to complete their homework. I have also tutored high school level chemistry and spanish as well as college level spanish. I recently finished a semester abroad in Chile and now consider myself almost fluent in spanish. I scored a 29 on my ACT. I want to be a tutor because it is fulfilling. When you see that light bulb go off and the learner understands it is a great feeling that you were able to help them succeed. It is also great experience for my future career in teaching and will improve my knowledge in various subjects. As an elementary education major almost every one of my classes can apply to tutoring, especially Reading Theory, Speech and Language, Creating an Inclusive Learning Environment and Curriculum Methods and Instruction. Every employment opportunity I have had has worked directly with kids. I have also had an internship examining standardized test scores in Massachusetts. The work I did truly helped me to understand why students make certain mistakes.

Hobbies
Some may say it is not a hobby but my absolute favorite thing to do is to sit around laughing with friends and family. I also enjoy any time I get to spend working with children. I love to dance, do arts and crafts, scrapbook and travel. For me, it is so important to experience and understand other cultures.
