Experience
I earned my bachelor's degree from SUNY New Paltz in both English and Communication and Media. Both the school and degree program allowed me to explore my passions, including the photography, hiking, and language. I later got my master's degree in English, during which I tutored freshmen and student taught classes in the department of Communication and Media. I learned a lot about myself during those years, particularly that I love working with students to help them succeed. For two years I served as a high school Teaching Assistant, which involved tutoring students for subject tests, standardized exams, and college and job applications. During this time I was also getting my master's degree in Teaching.I am currently a Teaching Assistant for English Language Arts and Science classes in middle schools, where I focus heavily on preparing students for standardized state tests by teaching them to read and write better. I teach under the idea that the best strategies for students are those that are personalized, and as a teacher and tutor I must help them develop strategies they can use.
