Private tutor in Carmel, NY
Education
Vassar College - B.A., Political Science
Experience
I graduated from Vassar College with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Upon graduating, I worked in the field of politics for over a decade at the municipality and state levels. I have experience working as a communications director and as the chief of staff, along with contributing to a number of election campaigns.I enrolled in Pace Law School, where I graduated magna cum laude. After working for two years as a clerk for a federal judge, I now am a prosecutor in the district attorney's office. I also have experience teaching criminal justice at Monroe College.Through my teaching experience, I was able to help a number of economically disadvantaged students via private tutoring. Because of this experience, I decided to further pursue tutoring, as it allows me to help struggling students overcome their difficulties. Tutoring allows for me to give individuals the attention they need in one-on-one settings, in a manner that does not lend itself to traditional teaching. Every student learns differently, and has individual goals and needs that need to be assessed. It is my goal, as the tutor, to customize my lessons to better suit these needs.I am available to help students in English grammar, reading, writing, public speaking, government, American history, and social studies. I also am able to help students improve their essay writing abilities.
